Healthy cells regrow in former smokers

Quitting smoking reduces the risk of developing lung cancer by promoting the development of “protective” lung cells, suggests new research co-authored by Dr Kate Gowers (Lungs for Living Research Centre at UCL) & Professor Sam Janes (UCL Medicine).
