Concussion in football should be taken more seriously

In a 2017 study led by Dr Helen Ling (UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology), post-mortem examinations on brains of six former footballers who had dementia found four of them had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated head injuries.
