XXL, one of London’s biggest gay nightclubs, faces closure to make way for a £1.3bn apartment, hotel and office development. Research by Professor Ben Campkin (UCL Bartlett School of Architecture) shows the capital's gay clubs have declined from 125 in 2006 to just 53 in 2017.
