Harnessing DNA for better – or worse?

Professor Mike Cheetham (UCL Institute of Ophthalmology) says the invention of CRISPR-Cas9 technology “has revolutionised genetic research”, and explains how it is used to cut specific regions of DNA and insert a customised sequence of DNA in its place.
