Commenting
on a study into the trigger conditions for a glaciation, Professor Chris Rapley (UCL Earth
Sciences) said: "This is an interesting result that provides further
evidence that we have entered a new geological [Epoch] - 'The Anthropocene' -
in which human actions are affecting the very metabolism of the planet".
