A new Gender and Food Security report from the UN emphasises the importance
of gender equality. "This report is most
welcome for highlighting the multiple deprivations that women suffer in
agriculture and for showing how gender inequality undermines food
insecurity," says Professor Maxine Molyneux (UCL Institute of the
