21 March 2024

This year we will be replacing our Student Admissions system. Staff in faculties and departments who are involved in the Student Admissions process are invited to join a Town Hall.

The Admissions Transformation Programme

The Admissions Transformation Programme (ATP) was initiated a couple of years ago under UCL’s Strategic Plan (Enabling priorities, Student Experience), with the aim of improving our admissions service to deliver an outstanding and world-leading experience for students and staff.

Under this programme of work, all aspects of admissions, including our policies, processes, ways of working and systems were examined. As a result, a new admissions enquiries system was implemented, updates were made to admissions policies, and staff in admissions received process improvement training.

This year we will be replacing our Student Admissions system, which manages over 160,000 applications annually. The new system is currently under development, with early testing underway.

Town Hall meetings

We will be holding two staff Town Halls to provide an update on ATP, including implementation timelines for the new system and a preview of the new system.

The Town Halls are for all staff in faculties and departments who are involved in the Student Admissions process. They have been scheduled on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 30 April 2024 from 12:30 until 13:30
  • Friday 3 May 2024 from 14:00 until 15:00

Sign up here to attend

If you are not able to join us, the event will be recorded and the recording uploaded to our SharePoint.

Additional information

Professor Nigel Titchener-Hooker, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, will be stepping into the pivotal role of programme sponsor for ATP, replacing Professor Christoph Lindner. Nigel brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our university's success and was already a member of the Programme Board.

A Reference Group was formed in December to provide feedback, disseminate communications, and feed into discussions about future system enhancements etc. This is to ensure that every department is kept equally informed with up to two representatives from all UCL departments.

If you are interested in joining the Reference Group, please check the current membership to see whether there are already two representatives for your department.

If not, complete this expression of interest via the following MS Form: Reference Group Expression of Interest form.

For more information about the programme, please look at the Admissions Transformation Programme SharePoint site, or feel free to email the programme team.
