Mandatory Training Line Manager Report launched

The report is the second of three editions aimed at promoting a culture of mandatory training compliance at UCL. It is available to line managers, and provides a list of direct reports – including both new and existing staff – and their compliance status across all mandatory training courses. The data is refreshed every day and is pulled from LearnUpon and Cybsafe – an external platform which hosts the Information Security course.

The Mandatory Training Line Manager report displays information such as the completion date for mandatory training courses, and lists those staff who have and have not completed the courses. To be fully compliant, an employee must have completed all eight mandatory training courses. Please note that contractors do not currently appear on the dashboard, so if managers have contractors as direct reports, they will need to continue to request completion certificates to monitor training completion.

Line managers with Tableau access will already be able to view this report, but if you have access to Tableau and are unable to view the report, you can request access by completing this form.

UCL aims to have 95% of staff in compliance (meaning completion of all eight courses) across the university. This figure is currently at 49%. We are keen for line managers to take an active role in ensuring their direct reports have completed their mandatory training. Staff are automatically enrolled onto training and need to complete it by the deadline stated in their enrolment notification email.  New starters must complete their training within six weeks of joining UCL. The next step for the mandatory training project team is launching a Faculty dashboard providing Heads of Departments with a list of individuals in their Faculty by their compliance status. Subsequently, we will be launching further guides and information on our SharePoint site, including a clear escalation procedure for faculties and line managers to follow for individuals not compliant with mandatory training.
