Virtual Study PCs – available for you to use
20 November 2020
Are you counting down the days until we can reopen the computer rooms on campus? If so, our Virtual Study PCs could be what you’re looking for.
As we have had to close our physical computer rooms we have reconfigured the PCs so that you can connect to them remotely. When PCs are not in use for remote teaching they are available as Virtual Study PCs for students to use on an ad-hoc basis.
The Virtual Study PCs are available 24 hours a day, however please note there won’t always be a PC available as often they will be in use for classes. They are more likely to be free outside teaching time such as evenings and weekends. Study PCs will be available for up to 2 hours unless there is a class scheduled to begin sooner. In this case, you will be logged off in time for that class to take place.
How do I access a Virtual Study PC?
If teaching is not taking place you will see a Virtual Study PC icon on your Desktop@UCL Anywhere interface (My.desktop.ucl.ac.uk). From here you will be able to connect to a PC.
For more information, please take a look at our guide for How to log in to a Virtual Study PC.
