Apply now for the Dawes Centre for Future Crime dissertation prize

UCL is home to the Dawes Centre for Future Crime – part of the Department of Security and Crime Science. A core part of the Centre’s activities involve research projects addressing two central questions: 

•    What types of crime have or could emerge (and which should we focus on)?
•    How can we be proactive in preventing or mitigating future threats?

This year, the Centre has launched the Dawes Centre for Future Crime dissertation prize – offering students from all faculties at UCL the chance to win £500 for a notable dissertation that also aligns with the Centre's aims.

Application procedure:

To be considered for the prize, students should send an abstract of their work via email to Dr Bennett Kleinberg by 1 August 2020.

The abstract (max. 200 words) should detail the research question and approach (we are aware the work is not finished yet).

The Centre will then shortlist students and elicit full dissertations by mid September 2020. Applicants will be notified about the outcome by early October 2020.

The prize awardees' dissertations will be publicised on the Centre's website. For any questions, please contact Dr Bennett Kleinberg.
