3 May 2019

The EU Parliament elections are fast approaching on 23 May. You must be registered by 7 May in order to take part.

Register to vote in the EU Parliament elections

It takes two minutes to register to vote and you must do this if you are voting in a new place for the first time.

To Register

Simply head over to GOV.UK. All you need is five minutes and your National Insurance (NI) number.

How do I know if I’m already registered?

If you’re not sure if you’re already registered, you’ll need to check with your local electoral registration office.

To find contact details for your local registration office, just enter your postcode at Your Vote Matters.

How do I find my National Insurance number?

You should have been sent your National Insurance number automatically just before you turned 16.

There will be lots of documents with your National Insurance number on them – have a look to see if you have any payslips, P60 or letters about tax or benefits.

If you’re still not sure, go to the dedicated governmental webpage or call 0300 200 3500.
