AXIS selected by UCL to provide security service

8 August 2018

UCL has announced that Axis Security Services will be taking responsibility for the university's security staffing contract from November 1st, 2018. Axis was awarded the agreement, with an initial contract term of five years, following a competitive tender process.

Axis Quad

Established in 1994, Axis Security is one of the UK's leading security companies with a network of nine regional offices and a workforce of circa 2,200 people.

David Mundell, Managing Director of Axis Security Services Limited said "We are thrilled to be awarded the security staffing contract with UCL.  Axis strive to provide a professional, world class service to its clients and believe that our vision is closely aligned with that of UCL.  We are truly excited about the potential for this contract to develop in the coming years".

The UCL Security team, which is part of Facilities and Workplace Services in UCL Estates, look forward to working with Axis Security Services during the mobilisation period and beyond.

Under the new contract Axis will take over the security staffing provision across the UCL Estate, which includes patrolling, emergency response, key holding, gate house and control room duties.

The employment status of existing security staff members at UCL will not be affected, with staff having the opportunity to transfer under TUPE and continuing to provide the day to day service under the new agreement.

UCL can expect service as usual during what is planned to be a seamless transition, and the Security Team would like to thank CIS, on behalf of UCL, for their support over the past nine years and welcome Axis on board and look forward to a collaborative partnership.
