UCL Accommodation recruiting summer reception assistants

During the summer vacation, many of the Student Residences run as hotels, taking short term lets, and are operational during the weekends and evenings.

Vice warden positions available

UCL Accommodation would like to recruit a number of summer reception assistants (up to 28) to assist them this summer.

The positions involve providing a reception and housekeeping service to the guests and students.

This will include:

  • responding to enquiries in person and over the telephone
  • checking in students and guests
  • receiving and distributing deliveries and post
  • giving out and checking housekeeping tasks
  • logging and checking maintenance jobs.

The posts are funded from 15 June - 25 September 2015, and there is a mandatory training day on 15 June.


Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to show initiative and take responsibility and be committed to a high level of customer care and service provision.

Computer competence is also essential, and previous experience in a student accommodation role or in a hotel environment is desirable.

The hourly rate of pay is £10.01 per hour, the closing date for applications is the 10 May 2015 and interviews will be held the week commencing 18 May.
