Participants needed for cross-cultural research project on social perception

Are you curious about social behaviour and how people look at each other?  Are you interested in trying out our latest eye-tracking equipment? We are looking for volunteers for our new Social Perception Study, which investigates how individuals from different cultures look at faces of others, and how this influences their opinion of these people.

Group of students talking outside To this aim, we are collecting data in the U.K., the U.S., France, and Japan.

The Eyethink Lab (www.eyethink.org) is recruiting UCL students who identify as White British/Irish to take part in a fun and interesting study. Participants will watch a series of videos, and we will record their pupil dilation (non-invasive methodology). We will also ask participants to fill in short series of questionnaires.

  • Participants have to identify as White British/Irish
  • The study takes place at Bedford Way 26 (psychology building), room 419.
  • We will run the study in the 2nd and 3rd week of November usually on Wednesdays and Fridays, but feel free to contact us, if another day would be more convenient.
  • The study takes 60 minutes and you will receive £6 payment for your participation.

This Study has been approved by the ethics committee of the Experimental Psychology Department (CPB/2013/009). All information collected will be treated as strictly confidential and handled in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.
