Healthy males wanted to participate in new medicine study

3 October 2014

We are looking for healthy male volunteers between the age of 18 and 55 who would like to participate in a study to evaluate the effects of a new medicine on the function of the brain.

Brain scan To be eligible you should be a normal weight and should not have been taking medicines within the last 2 weeks.
  • There will be a screening visit (60‐90 minutes) and 3 treatment periods separated by at least 7 days.
  • Each treatment period involves the oral application of a single dose of the study medication and 4 test phases (each taking about 60 minutes) over day 1 and one in the morning of day 2 and 3.

In each test phase we use a technique of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) that is routinely used in clinical practice. It involves the application of mild painless magnetic impulses to the head which prompt small twitches of a hand muscle. We will also ask you to fill out a questionnaire and participate in simple attention and drawing tests.

For the cost of time, travel and incidentals you will receive £320 as reimbursement.
