The final, which was held at the Bank of China's head office, saw the four finalist teams compete to win potential investment of £250,000 along with a cash prize of £7,000, based on who had produced the best business plan.

The competition was decided by pitches to a judging panel including Ben Brabyn, chief operating officer at UKTI Innovation Gateway; Essex County Council head of international trade Peter Manning and Ashley Goodall, principal of Hybrid Communications and previously MD of Saatchi Design.

As well as pitches, the day also saw an address by the minister counsellor for science and technology at the Chinese embassy in London, Mr. Futao Chen.

Organised by UCL in partnership with the universities of Lancaster and Edinburgh, as well as the University of East Anglia and the Bank of China, the Challenge has seen four teams compete to produce the best business idea which will promote economic ties between the two countries.
