New UCL student residence on Caledonian Road

The accommodation will provide 350 extra bed spaces for UCL students in a central London location with excellent local transport links to our main campus in Bloomsbury.

We believe this is good news for UCL and our students, given the obvious challenge universities in the capital face in providing accommodation for students close to the campus.

The accommodation comprises a mixture of three to six bedroom 'cluster' flats as well as individual studios which have been designed with post-graduate students in mind.

New Hall also contains a central courtyard area, a large social learning space and two retail units.

A challenging aspect of the building design was the need for us to incorporate the façade, which is listed, into an appropriate hall of residence.

The final design complies with all necessary planning regulations in respect of outlook, amenity and natural daylight.
