Review of the job evaluation process for professional services/support staff

13 January 2012

Human Resources has received feedback from a range of staff regarding the perceived complexity of the job evaluation process.

This includes the time and effort required of managers and staff to complete it and the level of advice and support for the process.

The Director of Human Resources has commissioned Southern Universities Management Services (SUMS) to undertake an independent review of the current job evaluation process during January and February this year. Further information about SUMS can be found at http://www.sums.org.uk/index.

Staff are invited to participate in a focus group. Focus group sizes will necessarily be limited and participation will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The focus group will be held on Wednesday 18 January at 1.30pm. If you would like to attend the focus group please register hereThe closing date for registration is 17 January.

We anticipate that the focus group meetings will last about 90 minutes and will be held in room 1007, on the 10th floor of 1-19 Torrington Place.

Any staff member who is unable to attend the focus group meeting may also provide feedback addressing the objectives of the review via written submission directly to Alison Hall.
