UCL Professor Wins Science Blog Prize

7 December 2012

Congratulations to Professor David Colquhoun (UCL Pharmacology), who was joint-winner of the 2012 UK Science Blog Prize.

Professor David Colquhoun

Professor Colquhoun won the prize for his blog 'DC's Improbable Science', which provides 'investigations of dubious and dishonest science'. One fan, congratulating him on his prize, described the blog as "uniquely fearless, meticulous, humorous and importantly, has impact beyond the blog world."

The prize was awarded by the Good Thinking Society, whose goal is 'to encourage curiosity and promote rational thinking'.

Professor Colquhoun reacted to the prize on his blog, saying: "Truly gobsmacked to find this blog got first prize at the Good Thinking Society UK science blog event. It was shared with PhD student, Suzi Gage @soozaphone. We must have been [the] youngest and oldest entrants."
