Thousands of graduating students join the UCL Alumni Network

15 September 2011

At this year's Graduation Ceremonies, thousands of graduates took the opportunity to continue a life-long relationship with UCL after their studies by joining the UCL Alumni Network - a community of over 140,000 alumni in 180 countries around the world.

Teams of student ambassadors invited graduates directly before and after the ceremonies to apply for a UCL Alumni Benefits Card, giving them access to a range of alumni benefits and services including continued access to UCL's Library and UCLU's bars and cafes.

A number of prominent and committed UCL alumni from around the world were also invited to give speeches to open individual ceremonies including Richard Brown CBE (UCL MPhil Planning Studies 1977), Chairman, Eurostar Group and George Farha (UCL Chemical Engineering 1991), Chairman of Intercat. Speakers passionately recalled their time as UCL students, empathising with those present and emphasising what an impact UCL has had and continues to make on their lives. The speakers then introduced an alumni film designed to encourage graduating students to sign-up as UCL Alumni. To view the alumni film please click on the link below.

As well as a UCL Alumni Benefits Card, members of the Alumni Network have access to regular news and events at UCL including an award-winning professional networking events series where recent graduates can learn more about careers within particular sectors and network with experienced alumni.
