New staff Gender Equality Group - call for members

3 November 2011

A Gender Equality Group "50:50" is being set up to take forward the gender equality objectives in UCL's Equalities and Diversity Strategy.

The aim is for the group to be comprised of 50:50 women and men from different disciplines and staff groups. The group will meet once a term and will report to the Committee for Equal Opportunities (CEO), along with the existing Race Equality and LGBT Equality Groups.

One of the main tasks of the group will be to make recommendations on how to get more women into senior grades so that ultimately half UCL's staff at grades 9 and 10 are female, in line with the overall gender balance at the university.

If you have a keen interest in equality issues in higher education, and gender equality in particular, and would like to become a member, please contact Sarah Guise, Head of Equalities and Diversity.
