Developments in UCL Estates

The Estates and Facilities Division has rebranded as 'UCL Estates' signalling changes to the structure of the Division, the way services are provided and the wider Estates initiatives in train, for example the

Quad ucl.ac.uk/masterplan/" target="_self">Bloomsbury Masterplan.

UCL Estates is restructuring to enable a number of improvements to be made including:

  • improved customer service,
  • greater integration and  responsiveness of estates services,
  • more effective communication and greater alignment between Estates and UCL's School structure.

The restructure is expected to be largely completed during the summer.

Three new senior appointments have also recently been confirmed. Geoff Prudence has joined UCL as Head of Engineering and Maintenance with a remit to transform UCL's estate maintenance activities.  Sian Minnett joins UCL Estates as Head of Satellite Estate Services on 1 June from the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences where she is currently Director of Administration. Sian will take responsibility for the delivery and integration of the estate services of the Post Graduate Institutes, Royal Free and Whittington Medical Schools and other UCL sites outside Bloomsbury. Finally, Richard Jackson joins UCL as Head of Environmental Sustainability on 4 July having undertaken a similar role at the Olympic Delivery Authority. Richard will have a remit to transform UCL's environmental performance, working across the institution and including academic research colleagues at the Energy and Environment Institutes.
