Cluster room and service closures: 27 March and 10 April

  • All student cluster rooms and the Myriad computers in the UCL libraries will be unavailable on Saturday 27 March due to file store replacement work.

    Email, WTS, Myriad, Unix Timesharing and personal webpages will also be unavailable on Saturday 27 March and these services should all be considered at risk on Sunday 28 March.

    On Saturday 10 April, further work will be carried out rendering all student cluster rooms and the Myriad computers in the libraries again unavailable for the day. WTS and Myriad will also be unavailable on that date. These services should be considered at risk on Sunday 11 April.

    All other systems including the network, Moodle, administration systems, UCL websites and ADS will be fully available throughout the above outages.

    UCL Context

    Information Systems has taken the decision to replace UCL's institutional file store following a number of large-scale outages over the past 12 months affecting email, web access, WTS, lecture theatre PCs and cluster room services. The replacement work will take place in the break between the Spring and Summer terms and will involve the two outages above.
