The UCL Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science (JDICS) is the first university department in the world devoted specifically to reducing crime.

It does this through teaching, research, public policy analysis and by the dissemination of evidence-based information on crime reduction.

In this video Professor Gloria Laycock, Director of JDICS, gives an insight into the university's pioneering work on predictive crime mapping.
