Geoffrey Hill, one of the most important poets writing in English today, is coming to speak and read from his poetry at an event at UCL English on Friday 11 December. This is a rare opportunity to hear the poet speak in London.

The reading is part of a UCL English Open Evening for the MA in English Medieval Literature, at which both Geoffrey Hill and the distinguished medieval scholar and poet Bernard O'Donoghue (Wadham College, Oxford) will both attend as guest speakers and to read their poetry.

Both poets have been asked because of their interest in the literature and culture of the English Middle Ages.

The event starts at 5.30 pm, in the Gustave Tuck Lecture Theatre. Entry is open to all, with no need to book.
