70 graduates from 1982, 1983 and 1984 attended a 25-year reunion held at Tate Modern and on a boat on the Thames on 20 September 2008.

The reunion started with a reception in the East Room at Tate Modern, where attendees enjoyed sipping champagne whilst chatting to old friends and enjoying panoramic views of London. A number of alumni were taken on guided tours of Tate Modern to view the various collections on show.

Professor Michael Worton, UCL Vice-Provost (International & Academic), then spoke about UCL today, its steady climb in the world rankings of universities and how UCL is working to solve some of the world's greatest challenges.

Then it was on to the boat at bankside for a cruise up the river Thames to Greenwich. The sunny September weather allowed alumni to mingle with one another on the top deck and to take in the wonderful views. A barbeque and disco followed what was a very enjoyable evening for all concerned.

Colin Wilson (UCL Economics 1983) said: "The whole event was great fun - I particularly enjoyed reconnecting with UCL classmates whilst taking in everything London has to offer. It was also invaluable hearing about the UCL of today."

2009 will see a number of alumni reunions organised by faculty. For more information on the reunions taking place next year use the link at the top of this article.
