The Autumn 2008 issue of UCL's academic journal 'Opticon1826' has just
been published, featuring contributions from both staff and students.
Established in May 2006 with support from the UCL Graduate School,
'Opticon' is run by graduate students representing all UCL faculties, and
aims to publish high quality work addressing a variety of issues.

As in previous issues, the articles published in Issue 5 engage with
fascinating themes, addressing subject-matter that ranges from therapeutic
cloning to South Africa. The research notes and one review examine
everything from the politics of research to the human propensity for
fairness. We also feature one short story, alongside two letters to the
editor.

Submissions for the spring 2009 issue, out on 30 April, are now welcome.
Contributions can be in the form of an article, a review/commentary,
letter to the editor, or creative work. For more information, please
contact the editor-in-chief at opticon1826@ucl.ac.uk.
