Staff and students are invited to take part in UCL's inaugural celebration of One World Week, a celebration of diversity at UCL running from 4-9 February.

One World Week consists of over 30 events organised by UCL Union, UCL clubs and societies and UCL academic departments to explode myths and preconceptions about gender and sexuality, different cultures and religions, the environment, disability and many other issues.

UCL President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant will open the proceedings on Monday 4 February at an event from 5.15-9.30pm in the North Cloisters and Jeremy Bentham Room. The launch will include a debate entitled 'Tomorrow's World', with a panel featuring:

  • Dr Derek Wall, Male Principal Speaker, Green Party
  • Lord McNally, Leader in the House of Lords, Liberal Democrats
  • Ruqayyah Collector, Black Students' Officer, National Union of Students
  • Zohra Moosa, Senior Policy Officer Race & Gender, Fawcett Society
  • Derek Munn, Director of Public Affairs, Stonewall.

The evening will finish with a complimentary buffet and drinks accompanied by live world music.

A limited number of free tickets are available on a first come, first served basis from the Clubs and Societies Centre reception, on the second floor of the Bloomsbury Building.
