UCL on 'University Challenge'

UCL students bested the University of York 220-145 in the quarter finals of 'University Challenge' broadcast on BBC Two on 19 March 2007.

Demonstrating the benefits of studying at a university with strengths across the complete range of disciplines, the team's correct answers included: "The Eurovision Song Contest", "Farting", "Deserted Medieval Villages", "Spartacus", "Roswell", "Utilitarian", "Beyond the Fringe" and "Tax Free Day". 

The UCL team have also beaten Cambridge's Pembroke College and Girton College in this series, and will appear next in the semi-finals.
