UCL's new Director of Finance comes from BBC

UCL has appointed ex-BBC World Service Chief Operating Officer as its new Director of Finance.

Alison Woodhams will take up her new position in October. Her previous appointments at the BBC include Group Financial Controller, Head of Internal Audit, and Head of Finance at BBC English Regions. She has also held positions at AT&T ISTEL & Cadbury Typhoo.

 Professor Malcolm Grant, UCL's President & Provost, said: "UCL has an annual turnover of almost £600 million and is one of the top UK research-intensive universities. It's important we continue to attract the best administrative staff, academics and students to help us build on our strong position. We are very pleased to have Alison join the team at what could not be a more exciting and challenging time for the university."

Alison Woodhams said: "I am thrilled to have the chance to help UCL tackle the new and exciting challenges it faces in today's rapidly-changing environment. I look forward to playing a part in ensuring that it remains one of the leading universities in the world."
