Flooding 'threatens Tower and Big Ben'

The Tower of London is one of the world's great buildings most threatened by climate change, United Nations scientists claim.


Rising water levels in the Thames could make the building collapse and also affect Westminster Abbey, Parliament and Big Ben. …

Flooding expert Professor May Cassar [UCL Centre for Sustainable Heritage] said: "Flooding from storm surges runs in 50-year cycles. The last one was in 1953 so we are overdue."
