Saturday 16 October: CNIE Public Engagement Event London Fields - Recycling plastic waste in Hackney

14 October 2021

London Fields PE Event

We are very excited to announce our upcoming event on Recycling plastic waste in Hackney with support from Trellis/UCL Culture. The event will be held in London Fields, Hackney, London, close to Broadway Market. This is an event for local traders, shop owners and stallholders to learn more about the type of plastics used in packaging and how to make the best sustainable choices for their business.

The event will take place on Saturday 16th October from 11am to 2pm, organised by the UCL Centre for Nature-Inspired Engineering (CNIE), in conjunction with the Plastic Waste Innovation Hub.

We have invited local traders from the famous Broadway Market (ongoing on Saturday) and other shop owners and stallholders from the wider Hackney area to meet researchers from the CNIE and Plastic Waste Innovation Hub and exchange ideas.

Along with that, there will be games and an exhibition for the general public to visit at our marquee, where they can learn about waste recycling, reuse and composting.

The event will take the form of a half-day workshop, which people can attend all of, or dip in and out, where researchers and traders exchange information and ideas.

Special thanks to Nidhi Kapil and Julia Linke from the CNIE for their help with the organisation for the event.

Please see our flyer for further details.
