Amy Unsworth joined the Natural Sciences programme in 2022 as a Lecturer with a focus on Science and Society, and as our EDI Lead. She was previously a Research Fellow in UCL’s Department for Science and Technology Studies. Amy spent lots of time looking through microscopes to gain a Biology PhD from UCL and Cancer Research UK, and then spent several years doing science communication for organisations including the Science Museum and the British Council. She returned to academic research to find out more about perceptions of science among various publics, and really wants to see a greater diversity of people involved in science.
