Degree Programme Admission Requirements:
GCE A Level: three GCE A levels at grades A*AA, with at least two in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics (or equivalent such as International Baccalaureate)
IB Diploma: 39 points with a score of 19 points in three higher level subjects, including grade 6 in two from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics, with no score lower than 5.

Stream Specific Entry Requirements:
- Chemistry
All Chemistry streams require at least a grade A in Chemistry GCE A level or equivalent.
Physical and Inorganic and Materials Chemistry streams require at least a grade A in Mathematics GCE A level or equivalent.
Organic Chemistry stream recommends Mathematics GCE A level or equivalent.
- Earth Sciences
Geophysical Sciences stream recommends Mathematics and Physics GCE A levels or equivalent
Earth and Environment stream has no specific requirements but at least two science A levels or equivalent are needed.
- Life Sciences
Biomedical Sciences, Molecular and Cell Biology, Neuroscience and Psychology streams require at least a grade A in GCE A level chemistry or equivalent, Biology to at least GCE AS level or equivalent is recommended.
Genetics, Evolution and Environment stream requires at least a grade A in Biology GCE A level or equivalent, Chemistry to at least GCE AS level or equivalent is recommended.
- Mathematics and Statistics
The Mathematics and Statistics stream requires at least a grade A in GCE A level Mathematics or equivalent.
Further Mathematics is not a requirement on the Mathematics and Statistics stream.
- Physics
All Physics streams require at least a grade A in Mathematics and Physics at GCE A level or equivalent.
- Science and Technology Studies
Science and Technology Studies streams have no specific requirements but at least two science A levels or equivalent are needed.
