Tomorrow's Home

25 November 2021

The nanoengineered systems lab partake in Tomorrow's Home exhibition.

Tomorrow's Home

The launch of Tomorrow's Home, hosted by UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering, took place on the 22nd of November, 2021. Tomorrow’s Home is an immersive installation where the home of the future – 30 years from now – become a reality as an exhibition hosted at the Museum of the Home. It draws upon leading research from the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering to imagine how our dwellings could be designed to help us live independently and well as we age, and support our changing planet.
On the 24th of November, Professor Manish Tiwari and Professor Rui Loureiro took part in a webinar about smart devices, where they explored if nanoengineering could make the home more sustainable, and if robots can help us recover from injury more quickly.
On the 25th of November, members of Professor Manish's team set up some demonstrations in the Museum of the Home to talk to the public about some of their work on new nanotechnology solutions and materials and how it might impact the future of our homes.

Check out the video produced by Amy Warnock below showing our demonstrations.
