Research Opportunities (general)

There are opportunities to join our group and conduct research in atomic-scale science.

Undergraduate Summer Research

We host undergraduate students for 8-week funded projects in the summertime.  These projects are funded on a competitive basis with possibilities for both UCL and non-UCL second and third year undergraduate students to apply.  If you are interested please contact me at the email at the bottom of this page with a short paragraph describing your research interest (you can read more about our activities in our Research page) together with short CV and academic transcript.

Masters projects

UCL MSci and MSc students may apply to conduct research in our group.  For experimental projects you will be paired with a PhD student in our group to enable you to conduct experiments using our UHV-STM systems.  The research topics available are therefore strongly aligned with the ongoing research topics of our group.

PhD projects

PhD projects are available on a competitive application basis.  The range of topics is broadly contained within those topics on our Research pages but will be determined by discussion.  Please use the contact information at the bottom of this page if you would like to discuss PhD opportunities.Post-doctoral research

From time to time we have post-doctoral research positions available.  These will generally be advertised and a link supplied here. Please get in touch via email if you are interested in postdoctoral opportunities in our group.
