I am working on visualising gene expression changes in a developmental context, using the social amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum as a model. I combine molecular genetics and cell culturing techniques for sample preparation with advanced fluorescence timelapse microscopy and bespoke image analysis algorithms to watch and quantify cells transcribing genes in a developmental niche.
