Research synopsis

Mitochondria serve to regulate and elicit many cellular processes within the cell, ranging from ATP production to apoptosis. It is now appreciated that for mitochondria to carry out these processes they must be regulated in position, morphology and through quality control mechanisms. Using both biochemical and imaging approaches I hope to understand how these process are regulated and inter-connected through the study of novel interactors of the mitochondrial trafficking protein, Miro.
