Research Centres within ILDH
The Royal Free Sheila Sherlock Hepatology Postgraduate course has developed an excellent reputation for its clinically relevant, interactive and curriculum-focussed content, designed for both gastroenterology and acute medicine trainees and consultants seeking an update that is tailored to everyday practice.
Our aim is to equip clinicians with the knowledge and skills to expertly manage patients with liver disease. The programme has been re-vamped for 2024, with sessions covering hepatology in the clinic, acute medical take, ITU and liver transplant settings. This is the 10th year that the course has been run, with consistently excellent delegate feedback.
This year the course will be held virtually, with live-streamed speakers and plenty of opportunities for audience interaction and questions.

Continuing the Sheila Sherlock legacy the UCL Institute for Liver & Digestive Health (ILDH) becomes the most attractive host institutions for basic & clinical Hepatology fellowships in Europe. Over the past four years an increasing number of applications for fellowships of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) indicated ILDH as the preferred host institution.
According to the new fellowship scheme launched in 2017 EASL provides three types of fellowship programme:
In 2018 we are delighted to announce that one fellowship for each scheme has been assigned to ILDH as the host institution.
