Copyright for Knowledge membership logos

Education and research are the fundamental building blocks of the knowledge economy, and are based upon the broad availability and dissemination of knowledge goods across borders. Creative outputs from education and research, and subsequently their reuse, sharing, reworking and preservation are fundamental to the advancement of knowledge and the further development of learning.

Copyright for Knowledge is a cross-sectoral body which aims to work with government at both a UK and European level to achieve a balanced copyright regime in Europe. Copyright for Knowledge will

  • Work on policy issues regarding Intellectual Property Rights and Copyright
  • Strive to achieve a balanced position on copyright and IPR issues, acknowledging the needs of both the rights holder and the user
  • Value collaboration with all interested parties in pursuing our aims
  • Communicate widely to consult and inform interested parties of the results of our work
