The launch marked the publication of a major new update for the LBS database, tracing the ownership of estates from the 1760s to the 1830s, incorporating new individuals and linking more than 9,000 estates in the British Caribbean to the slave compensation records.
Members of the LBS project and the new Centre outlined the new work, much of which is embodied in the work on estates and maps. There were also questions and discussion.
