Almost certainly a woman of colour, one of the natural children of Thomas Rogers the elder (q.v.) of Clonbrock. With several of her siblings she had moved to Britain by the 1820s.

Will of Johanna Gresham widow formerly of Wavertree but late of Derby Place Edge Lane who died 09/02/1865 proved 08/07/1865 by Mary Elizabeth Gresham daughter, effects under £100.
In 1861 Johanna Gresham born Demerara aged 64 was living at Villa Cottage, Wavertree with her daughters Mary Elizabeth Gresham and Clarissa Yates.
