- Will of John Spooner of [Grosvenor Place] St George Hanover Square proved 01/02/1786. In the will he rehearsed his wife's family's side of their marriage settlement , which gave him a life interest in Buckland Filleigh in Devon, but not his own family's: the will makes no reference to St Kitts property. He left his freehold house near Grays Inn Gate called the Castle to his nephew Hungerford Spooner [q.v., under Hungerford Spooner the younger], and his leasehold house to his wife for life. He said he relied on his wife to fulfil a promise to pay £10,000 to their daughter Isabella.
