Biography

Son of Sir John Ogilvy of Inverquharity, 5th bart., and Charlotte Tullideph of Antigua (the daughter of Walter Tullideph). The mortgagees of the estate of Sir William Ogilvy bart. (Robert and Henry Jefferson of Whitehaven, each of whom q.v.) were awarded the compensation for the two estates on Antigua which had belonged to him. Sir William Ogilvy's son, Sir John Ogilvy the 9th baronet, was MP for Dundee 1857-1874.
