Roger Kynaston

1777 - 1847

London merchant, former partner with George Reid (d. 1826), father of Roger Kynaston jun. (q.v.) and son-in-law of Sir Charles Oakeley (q.v.): his partner George Reid was shown in the 1826 Jamaica Almanac as owner of Bunker Hill, the compensation for which was paid to the trustees of Sir Charles Oakeley. He became Official Assignee at Leeds in the 1840s, presumably reflecting the decline of his own mercantile business.
