Biography

Son of the merchant Roger Kynaston (1776-1847) and Georgiana Oakeley, daughter of Sir Charles Oakeley (q.v.), and trustee for William Clark, the mortgagee on Berkshire Hall in Jamaica.

  1. Baptised 12/12/1805 St Marylebone; living at St James's Place in 1841 aged 34 Independent; married Juliana Browne 16/09/1851 at Westminster; in 1861 and 1871 the couple was living at 43 Devonshire Street aged 55/65 and 54/64 respectively, with Roger Kynaston's occupation described successively as 'Income from Railway Shares' and 'Fundholder'. Juliana died 17/02/1874 and Roger Kynaston 21/06/1874, both at 43 Devonshire Street. Kynaston's effects were put at £25,000 resworn October 1875 to £30,000 and April 1876 to £40,000. One of his executors was his brother the Rev. Herbert Kynaston, Head Master of St Paul's School.
