- In 1861 Eliza Brodie, unmarried, born Jamaica aged 67 was head of the household at 6 Seymour Place Chelsea with sister Mary Lawrence (a widow) and several nieces, all born Jamaica. In 1871 Eliza Brodie was at 2 Bradmore Park Terrace aged 77 born Jamaica again with Mary Lawrence and nieces; in 1881 she was living ('great-aunt' aged 87 born Jamaica) at Carthew Villas in Hammersmith with Evan Lawrence, aged 27 a civil servant at the War Office and two of his aunts, Frances and Florence Lawrence (who were Eliza Brodie's nieces), both born Jamaica.
