Biography

Rebecca Mary Samuells was the daughter of Judith Gilling (q.v.), who registered four enslaved people as Rebecca’s Guardian in Hanover in 1817. Rebecca Mary Samuells was living in Lucea, Hanover in 1823, with her mother Judith Gilling, one sister and one brother. She registered enslaved people as owner in 1823 and in 1832. She was compensated for the loss of seven enslaved people after Emancipation.

Rebecca Mary Samuells died 27 /12/1898, aged 95.
