14 June 2022

The successes of LLB, LLM, and PhD/MPhil students were celebrated at events held on 6 and 8 June.

Members from across the Faculty – including staff, students, and their guests – gathered together to celebrate the achievements of students at the annual UCL Laws Prizewinners Ceremony. The event is one of the highlights of the UCL Laws calendar.

The first ceremony, on Monday 6 June, awarded prizes to UCL Laws’ postgraduate students (including LLM and PhD); and the second ceremony, on Wednesday 8 June, awarded prizes to undergraduate students.

A number of awards were presented to students for academic excellence, covering a range of legal fields and achievements. The event also recognised this year’s scholarship recipients, awarded on the basis of financial need and/or academic merit. The ceremony was followed by a drinks reception, and provided an opportunity for the students to celebrate with friends and family.

Mateusz Slowik, LLM student and recipient of the UCL Laws Opportunity Scholarship, commented:

“I am grateful to UCL Laws for presenting me with the opportunity to study at UCL over the past year. It was an incredibly formative experience, both professionally and personally, and I couldn’t have asked for a better time. I have too many people to thank, but I want to thank each one of them for supporting and believing in me - thank you.”

The prizes are made possible through the support of a wide range of sponsors and benefactors. UCL Laws expresses our gratitude to the law firms, UCL Laws alumni, and other organisations for their generosity.
