UCL Laws PhD students present at 8th Annual Conference of the Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC)

The conference aims to highlight, develop, and promote the scholarship of younger scholars of Comparative Law.

UCL Laws PhD students present at YCC

UCL Laws PhD students Joyman Lee, Luminita Olteanu and Ernesto Vargas Weil presented their work at the 8th Annual Conference of the Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC) of the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL).

The conference took place on May 10-11 2019 in Montreal, Canada and was hosted by the McGill Faculty of Law and the Crépeau Centre. The conference was hugely successful, aimed at promoting the scholarship of younger scholars of Comparative Law.

The details of the presentations are as follows:

  • “Core” and “non-core” trustee duties in English and Asian civil law trusts' (Joyman Lee)
  • 'Mapping the origins 'of reputation as a requirement for dilution protection in the European legislation – a pre-harmonisation comparative law exercise' (Luminita Olteanu)
  • 'Developing a method for comparative law and Economics' (Ernesto Vargas)
